When should I return my library items?

You may borrow up to 50 items for 28 days.

If items are not overdue or reserved by another patron they may be reborrowed for another 28 day period, either in person or by telephone (02) 6333 6281. Maximum of 2 renewals per item.

Items not immediately available may be reserved for free. Up to 12 items may be reserved at any one time.

Books not held by Bathurst Library may be obtained from another library service by Inter-Library Loan for a fee.

What do I do if my library item is overdue or lost?

Please return any overdue items to the library as soon as possible.

If you are unable to return the item, or if the item is lost or damaged, please contact us immediately.

Items must be returned on or before the due date - an after-hours returns chute is located outside the library for returning items when the library is closed.

We will issue you with an invoice for the replacement cost of any lost or badly damaged items.

Remember you can renew items twice if they are not overdue, either in person or by telephone (02) 6333 6281

Your borrowing rights will be suspended when you have items that are overdue and these rights will only be reinstated when the item(s) are returned and any fines due are paid.

How do I borrow an item from another NSW Library?

If we haven't got it and you really need it, then consider an Inter-library Loan!

This service is only available to Bathurst Regional Council Library members. Members of Charles Sturt University Library are asked to use their Campus Library for loans that are for research purposes.

We will do our best to locate the book or article you require. Application forms are available on request at the circulation desk.  There is a fee for this service which you will be advised of when you make the application.

Some items may be unavailable for loan such as DVDs and microfilm. Items such as journal or newspaper articles require extra information from you. At the very least we need the issue the article is in.

When the item arrives we will contact you by phone or mail so please make sure your library card details are correct.

If the item cannot be found or is unavailable for loan you will be notified as soon as possible.
