Bathurst Library will be CLOSED for the Labour Day public holiday on Monday 5th October 2026. Business as usual resumes 10am Tuesday 6th October.
Next date: Tuesday, 08 September 2026 | 06:00 PM to 07:00 PM
You don’t need to have bush directly next to your property to be at risk during a bush fire. Embers can travel long distances quickly and start a fire. Recent wet weather has encouraged bush growth and made it harder to manage. Even if you can’t see the bush, make sure you stay well prepared before and during the bush-fire danger period.
Getting ready for a bush fire is easier than you think. Review or create your bush-fire survival plan so you know exactly what to do when a fire threatens your property.
Come to our relaxed workshop where you will go over :
the basics of knowing your home/property risk,
making a bush-fire survival plan,
preparing your home/property for the impact of fire, and
keeping yourself informed.
Experienced Rural Fire Service personnel will be present to guide you and answer any burning questions you may have.
Unable to attend on the night? Create your plan online at MyFirePlan.com.au or drop in to the library and pick up some practical information to take home.
