Jenny and Kit enjoy sharing their knowledge with writers and authors, and take great pride in helping authors find their feet in this overwhelming industry. Between them they are able to tackle all areas of the writing/publishing journey, from a manuscript’s infancy through to a completed book, ready to be distributed and marketed. They are able to speak to both traditional publishing and self-publishing models, outlining the ins and outs of each.

This is a chance for these two industry professionals to share their knowledge with local authors and writing enthusiasts.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Kit Carstairs is the Managing Director of The Manuscript Appraisal Agency (The MAA), an organisation established to support authors honing their writing craft and pursuing publishing opportunities. Kit has worked as an inhouse editor in (traditional) book and magazine publishing. She has 15 years’ experience working with a wide variety of content, including both fiction and general non-fiction.

Jennifer Mosher is an author, editor and self-publishing facilitator who, since 2009, has helped more than 300 Australians self-publish more than 550 titles. Jenny is the former publisher of narratorAUSTRALIA, narratorINTERNATIONAL, and IndieMosh self-publishing. She was also the founder and owner of the former self-publishing book marketing site One Thousand Words Plus. She was also a judge for the 2012 Global Ebook Awards. An IPED Accredited Editor, Jenny is also the author of several self-published titles. She took a brief hiatus from the world of publishing, but she is back with a new publishing consultancy, with a focus on supporting authors in the publishing space.
